What is the difference between using a direct and indirect approach to extinguish a fire?

Direct approach consists on aiming the foam to any point of the fire. You will not have to worry about any kind of contamination caused by the foam or that the fire ends up engulfing and destroying it.

Indirect approach means aiming the foam at a wall, allowing the droplets of foam to drip down on the fire.

Mr. Fire X can be applied directly to a fire, forming a stable foam. This means that you will not have to plan ahead on how to act in a critical situation, thus ensuring that the flames will be extinguished quickly and safely.

What is saponification?

It is the process or result of producing soap by combining a strong alkali with vegetable oil. The oil chemically reacts with the alkali to produce glycerin and soap.

In the case of a cooking oil fire, soap is formed after applying Mr. Fire X to the oil fire, making the cleaning task easier.

How is Mr. Fire X better than other extinguishers out there?

Mr. Fire X covers 4 classes of fires (Class A : Solids [wood/paper] , Class B : Oils [cooking oil] , Class F : Hydrocarbon [Alcohol / flammable liquids], Electrical : over loaded sockets). Regular extinguishers require servicing every 1-2 years by certified professionals with each unit averaging at $50. However, our product covers common domestic fires at half the price and a significant difference in size and usability.

Mr. Fire X is meant to put out the initial stages of fires before they grow. Protect yourself now.

Where can I apply Mr. Fire X to?

Mr. Fire X is suitable for extinguishing the following scenarios:

  • Cooking oil (frying pan, fryer...): you can apply Mr. Fire X to this situation due to its ability to form soap when in contact with oil. This reaction is called saponification.
  • Cooker extractor hood: a dirty and greasy extractor hood can be highly flammable when in contact with an unexpected flame.
  • Cloths, greasy towels, napkins: the foam will isolate the burning objects preventing the spread of fire and suffocating it.
  • Burning oven: the foam contained in Mr. Fire X can expand to 30 times its original size. It will occupy a volume greater than 8 liters, protecting the surface of the oven and reducing the damage significantly.
  • Curtains: the foam can stick to vertical surfaces and prevent the fire from spreading.
  • Bins, wastepaper baskets: the foam will suffocate the fire and bring the temperature down, preventing any chance of re-igniting.
  • Alcohols: Mr. Fire X is insoluble on alcohols. Upon contact with alcohol, it will form a gelled layer that spreads over the burning surface, leading to the stoppage of oxygen to the fire.
  • Barbecues, grills: it is important to ensure that your grill is clean of any oil or grease spots . In an event of a fire, simply apply Mr. Fire X and wipe it down after.

Why use Mr Fire X instead of ABC dry powder?

ABC dry powder can be corrosive to your car and surrounding, inhaling the powder can be harmful to the user. The powder corrodes your engine and the clean up can be quite a hassle.
